8 tips for seniors ahead of Medicare open enrollment

Medicare has several different enrollment periods. Open enrollment, also known as the annual enrollment period or annual election period (AEP), is the opportunity for current Medicare beneficiaries to change coverage. It takes place every year from October 15 to December 7 with new plans to go into effect on Jan. 1.
