The average annual cost of car insurance in the US is $941.65 while the average paid in Texas is $1,044. This is just under 11 percent more than the national average. You should keep in mind that average auto insurance rates only tell you so much. There are several factors that go into setting the cost of your policy that is dependent on the individual as well as the insurance company you decide to go with. While you shouldn’t put too much stock into that number, it does help to keep it in mind while you’re looking around for the best rate.
