Insurance customer alleges Northwestern Mutual, agent made false representations
Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance | September 03, 2018
An insurance customer is suing Northwestern Mutual and an agent, alleging fraudulent misrepresentation. Cameron W. Bradford filed a complaint Aug. 23 in Orange County Circuit Court against Claudio Gambin and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, alleging the defendants breached their duty to properly advise Bradford about the costs charged that would affect the value of the life insurance policy. According to the complaint, after purchasing the policy sold by Gambin as an agent for Northwestern and paying premiums for a substantial period of time, Bradford learned the insurance policies were not a tax shelter and not an investment, as advised by Gambin. Instead, the suit said, the policy had high fees and costs.
