Insurtech Buckle launches hybrid rideshare policy covering personal and commercial risk

Buckle believes its rideshare insurance is solving the issue of covering the personal and commercial risk of drivers - something the industry hasn't managed to do profitably yet. Insurtech start-up Buckle has launched what it claims is the world’s first insurance policy that covers the personal and commercial risk of ridesharing drivers. The launch was made in partnership with ride-hailing service Lyft, and will be available to drivers working on the platform in the US state of Georgia. The company claimed it ran a pilot programme with “hundreds” of drivers in the state during 2019.
