Orlando property owner alleges insurance carrier failed to cover water damage

An Orlando property owner is suing an insurance carrier, alleging breach of an insurance contract. Fonia Exavier filed a complaint June 25 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida, alleging failure to pay for water damage.  According to the complaint, on Aug. 8, 2017, Exavier's property at 3885 Signal Hill Road, Orlando, was damaged by water due to a broken pipe. The suit says the broken pipe required reasonable, related and/or necessary repairs and replacements, as well as appropriate cleaning and other remedial measures, to which American Integrity has refused to provide insurance coverage.  The plaintiff alleges American Integrity Insurance has failed to establish proof that it is not responsible for the payment of covered losses and failed to pay the requested amounts for repairs and/or replacements.
