Michigan lawmakers seek to bring down car insurance rates in 2019

Michigan lawmakers on both sides of the aisle say this year they're going to bring down car insurance rates. Some GOP leaders said drivers need choices rather than the mandatory no fault insurance, but critics fear drivers with less coverage will go bankrupt with hospital costs. "People don't choose to be in an auto accident. they don't choose to be in an accident with their entire family and that's the way insurance should work so that people who need life long care have the coverage," said Margaret Kroese, Michigan Brain Injury Council.
